Yes indeed! She is beautifully built, but I take your point and will bring forward my maintenance programme, pull all the chainplates now and do the repair properly.

i regret that it’s the only real way forward that would give me real peace of mind.

Looks like grp but I guess it must be thick paint as grp is not mentioned which would be a possible cause or not helping if water has seeped in round the fitting
