In calm conditions that's fair enough, although I amost never motor at all, use the weight of the chain (catenary!) to start the boat moving forward and then pull forward using the windlass. Different matter when it's windy. I have seen so many fouled anchors due to time taken hauling the anchor in.My retrieval speed, or lack of it, has never bothered me. I just use the engines to clear the moored boats alongside and then sort out the chain in my own time.
