Great ideas ... and pics - thanks all! Some show apparently quite small diam chain pipe/deck cutouts which is encouraging. Shall probably just make some kind of a lid with a notched cutout for the chain. Any dimensions for hole diameter would be useful - seems about 52mm (2 1/8") should be enough looking at the specs (min diam) for some of the oval types which are recommended for 6-12mm chains. Might go up to 54 (2 1/4") to be on the safe side.
