CEVNI

No you don't not if it's from a recognised hire company. They all seem to have some form of dispensation allowing their hirers to use their boats without the CEVNI.

Not sure though if you're arranging it as a private hire. Think this might be a bit more difficult since the private hire boat won't be licensed for hire and reward.

Or you could always do the CEVNI test anyway. Get Marian Martin's book from the RYA, it's a bit confusing but the test itself is a doddle. Ten Q's multiple choice answers and fairly easy. Might need to read the book for a couple of hours or so beforehand.

Cutey is right they give you a two week pass. First you get a hlaf hours instruction then off you go. If stopped by the police have your hire docs and temp CEVNI pass ready.

Which part are you going to Piers?

Dom

Merry xmas and a happy new year

Sorry to be picky but if I remember correctly it was 14 questions from which 10 correct answers are required for a pass. Still, looks as tho' Piers has solved his problem anyway........
