as per the title, what is it?

It was on the f/b arch on MiTos, and whilst tracing and removing redundant cabling from the helm to the f/b I reached the arch and removed it only to find a 7-8pin connector with just two wires going somewhere (yet to be fully traced..)

Since I'm running a CETREK a/p featuring a 930618 distribution box, a Fluxgate compass and a rudder adjustment arm, I have a feeling that that's doing nothing and was probably part of some other hardware removed some years ago. Did find a 2cm dia cable with around 20+ wires in it (most likely a radar dome?) nearby, so maybe related?

Anyway, is that something that would be of any use? and what is it anyway?

I think you will find its a GPS, possibly used to bo connected to an old plotter that has now been removed and updated

It is an antenna for an 8 channel GPS receiver - very out of date and would have been connected with a BNC connector from what I remember, to either a Trimble/Cetrek or compatible GPS.

thanks for the replies.

It does have a 7pin connector, so definitely not BNC cable.
Further, the cabling (or rather 2 of the 7, end up in the CETREK 618 distribution box/controller.
Pretty sure it's irrelevant, and have a feeling that the two cables that do reach the control box were giving this thing 24V supply only.
The other two were connected to NAV2 input (nothing on NAV1 and anyway, do have compass and rudder connected and functioning)

So, there goes in the big box of possible scrap at the garage then ;)
