Well, they didn't actually have one. I generally use a piece of wood on top of the sink. You have to stand & it's a bit of a pain.

I guess you could always use the main saloon table although mine's a bit thin & the fiddles get in the way of the plotter/rules. Anyway, I prefer to sail with it stowed since it gives more room inside.

Anyone got any better ideas (not just get a bigger boat - SWIMBO wants a loft conversion) & yes I have posted on the owners club?

Bought a 1973 Centaur last autumn and it was fitted with loads of self-made gadgets, one of which was a sliding chart table that fitted over the starboard quarter berth when not in use. The rear end is supported on rails and the forward end is held up with a hook when in the stowed away position.
Pull out to extend and it rests on a support screwed to the after side of the sink bulkhead (we're talking 'B' layout here) and held in position by two 2" locating pins dropped through holes drilled in table and support.
Works a treat but you've still got to stand unless you can rest your b*m on the lower step on the engine casing (actually the tool box).
Still leaves enough depth in the berth to turn over comfortably.

Any use?
