The stinkies are proposing their Round Britain for 2004 and so why not one (with a difference) for the raggies. I believe that a figure of 8 course starting say at the Scilly Islands and heading up the Irish sea round the north of Scotland back through the Caledonian canal and down round the west coast of Ireland to finish back at the Scilly islands. Alternatively there could be two or three starting points eg adding Dublin and the Clyde. To add interest the route would have several waypoint marks eg round Trasnagh island in Strangford Lough so that you would have to navigate the tides as well - or round certain islands off Scotland. This is to add scenic interest so that it is not just a non-stop blast. More of a rally with meeting points - than a race.

Would this be of interest?

John

Interesting proposition.
I suppose that Brigand 56 will want to enter once we've got him amongst the chocolates in the Fastnet so we might all end up sailing on the one boat. This would obviously have plus and minus points.
I suppose it would cut back on our surfing time as we'd all be able to speak to each other.
Having Jimi on the same boat would not only be good for us in terms of his vast knowledge if something went wrong with any of the plumbing but also we couldn't all be accused of trying to T-bone him. Then again - if its a cat - I suppose that isn't out of the question.
If I go in Claymore you'd better let me know when the rest of you are starting as I'd better be off fairly soon - unless we have someone who can apply PY's to my conservatory.
Excellent idea - look forward to this being developed
