just seen the link/URL. Christmas pressie list, top of ! Thanks.

Pick up a decent 0.5 w laser (green is better) and you can then point out the stars to your amazed audience.

Richard/Dan

It would make a lovely prize in a big competition :)

Well, just spent a very happy half an hour and can report it is absolutely tops. We checked out 'selected stars' for sunset here. Pull them up on the easy use programme and you get them oh so easyly. Would even be a doddle in a rough sea.

You can select a target and it will identify it for you, or you request a target and via tiny red lights it 'steers' you onto it.

Gotta get out there now for starsights....never been hugely succesful I must say, this will change!

Like the laser idea and I reckon it could be a prize in the 'who posted about it first on here' competition.

Cheers.

Sorry but this is a completely different thing. Its like having a telescope that tells you what to do, go on deck and point.

Got stellarium.

Try skyscout.

I was telling a freind about skyscout the other day and he said he has an I-phone app that does much the same thing.

Dont know much about I-phones, I`m just the messenger, perhaps one of the i-phone experts will know how well it works.
