Someone on our moorings has decided to sell his Catch 22. A nice boat to sail, but what are they worth? I've not really seen them on the market much.

Not me. But I didn't know if the £6k he wants was a tad steep. His is in original gelcoat and is used every weekend all year, so it's looked after.
I don't know if he'll get that much though.

Ahh..... happy memories!

I campaigned a Catch 22 for the builders for a couple of years in the Solent when they were just new (very late 70's or early 80's?) and we walked away with lots of trophies..... she was an absoloute joy to sail in any conditions we encountered and we always found her to be an excellent boat...... Especially nice as we had use of the brand new boat, with the best rigging and sails we could ever want and lots of money thrown at it and all we had to do was turn up and win races! Happy days!
Anybody out there want to give me a brand new boat to campaign for them? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Second that. Relatively high SA/DSPL, so maybe not brilliant in catabatics, but otherwise a lovely little boat.

I\'ll third it :)

I love the little catch 22, like a big boat only smaller! As a teenager I'd happily take one of my dads off on my own for the day (he had two one fin, one wing keel) both had inboard diesels which make such a difference than hanging over the back trying to control an OB

6k does sound a little steep, but not if it has an inboard. They are an old boat now, so you might want to check for osmosis and also see the interior. Some were home builds so the usual rule apply.

Great little sailers though

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

I've just bought one of these, but there's almost nil info about them out there on the web - the name just drags up too many false hits. Does anyone have any (links to) useful info please? Actual dimensions would be a good start (none of the online ads agree), a bit of history would be great.

I was interested to hear you've got an Atlanta Catch 22. I've been looking for an owners' forum/ group without success. I've had one since 2007. So you happen to know of any owners' groups?

You, me, and this thread are it!

I managed to scrape together a few titbits of information, but it's not a lot.
