Catamaran newbie - sailing and mooring tips please

Heh , upwind isn't a worry really... its offwind with the boom hard against the shrouds I'm thinkin about.

But I'll just have to be smart and reef and/or sail under jib when it gets a bit strong...

Yep, it does.
So I think that makes it mk1 or mk2 right?
From what I can find on the web, the mk2 difference is a reduced rig.. would that be correct?

Yes, the next thing would be to measure the mast. Do be a bit more cautious than some on here have suggested, those boards make her grip the water so she doesn't slide to leeward in a gust; it's that sliding that stops cats like an HT going over; the Iroquois is another cat with a lot of canvas a centreboards and they carry floats at the masthead. But the Hirondelle is a great coastal cat, really rewarding to sail.

oh joy, the owner (who is travelling at the moment) just texted to tell me that its a mk2.
So, hopefully the rig will be that bit more manageable.

Anybody know if there's anywhere to go looking up the hull number?

Apparently I'll be able to go get a look at it next Tuesday now...
