Hi,

Im a newbie so be kind

Ive seen that most marinas in Europe and the USA charge by the meter so are the berthing costs for a 52" Power Cat the same as a 52" single hull?

The pros for a power cat are obvious because of the larger living areas etc but there has to be a downside to owning a boat thats twice the width as a single hull

The two ways of charging seem to be by length (metre) , with multihulls often (but not always) paying extra (say 1.5x) as a flat rate no matter your beam; and the second way is by area (length x beam). We have the advantage of both being a 15m power cat but only 4.9m wide meaning we often fit into a standard monohull berth. When ringing marinas, I’ll give them length and beam rather that cat/multihull :).
