Apparently there is more than one way to “Skin a Cat”.
Having never had the need to skin a cat. It is often referred to even by me. I don’t know any ways for skinning cats.
I have heard a “Mule Skinner” apart from being an odd little chap in a western likely to be shot was a name for a wagon driver.

I was wondering if anyone actually knows a method for skinning a cat.
And of course the "best way to skin a cat"

I suspect it may be something to do with the Navy, Rum, Sodomy and the Lash :o

I assume its a bit like skinning a rabbit which involves opening up along the centre line and then peeling off the skin with carcass in one hand and skin in another. But unless you owned a cheap indian restaurant, I'm not sure why you would want to skin a cat. Well maybe the one that was pi55ing inside a forum members house and causing a stink.

Hang the (dead) cat up by its hind legs, cut the skin inside the hind legs from one "ankle" to the next, cut around each ankle, pull the skin down, when you get to the tail cut through it, then pull the skin down (like taking off a stocking) past the front legs, pull these through the skin and cut through at the wrist, keep pulling down over the neck and cut through the neck. Voila you have skinned a cat!

(Not that I have ever done so but I have skinned enough rabbits in this way)

And its not too different from how cattle are skinned in an abattoir but a machine is needed to do the hide pulling.....
