CAT C32B - 2400 hp

Are the JB s still wood ? If so a bit off putting .

Thoses CATs in marine variants have throw away CAC s with a 7 yr service life = mega bucks .Plus a noose round your neck at resale , I mean say it’s 5 or 6 yrs .New prospect will jangle that rope .

Just google CAT intercoolers + litigation .Block out an afternoon :D

Ps the truck version never sees sea water running through a component , so I would buy the truck if I was in that market .

You may be able to keep up with us if you did ?
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I seem to recall quite explicitly always having to slow down for you and me chivving you to use a bit of throttle to get that beastie of yours moving! It may have had more top end but it's pointless having it if you are always tail end charlie.

They are not really wood, as it is cold moulding; like Spencer, Bayliss etc etc
So you get the best of boat worlds basically.
The wood in this case is the one off male mould, which is then covered by glass and epoxy.
Also JB have always build in the Jig method. while for example another nice builder like Paul Mann builds in Frame and Plank.
Frame and Plank is more an art IMO

Cat C32 is very interesting and good for the market considering it weight less then the MTu 2600hp which is a 35 liter if I remember well.

Man should enter the 2400hp competition very soon as well with there 2400hp nearly ready.

Tnx for the clarity W .
I did say a “ bit “ off putting . ;)
Appreciate the American SF sector is very niche and there are SF ers and SF ers in a those that know , know kinda way ?
Bit like Med sport cruisers ,mentioning no names , mass produced and niche different .:D Price reflects etc etc .

I guess there’s a pecking order in the fishing club amongst the wealthy Americans. As always .

Bruce he only goes Borth Wen and stays for 1 weeks my Tohatsu 3.3 could get my boat there .

There definitely is though production builders like Viking are still appreciated.
Though if you have a Merrit or a Rubovich you are a top drawer running a Bugatti. Then come American Custom Yachts, and Tribute, then Spencer, Bayliss, Jarrett Bay, FandS, Paul Mann etc etc
The Florida / Miami boat yards are sort of top drawer, they are not really better but have something distinct about them.
I personally think though that Bayliss is the most beautiful if you want a standard sport-fisher.
But really Viking does so much a good job if you want do want to fork the extra $$$ for a custom, even though the difference from a custom is not a lot.
Exl Miami yards it is about 10/20%+ to the Carolina builds versus a similar sized Viking, Reason is taxes are less, land is cheaper, as is labour in Carolina.
The problem with Custom builds is most of the time more about lead time, as you always need about two years for your 18-21 meter build.

Your first pic unless I am mistaken looks like that which came out of the boat
If you mean the first of Hurricane's pic, I believe that's actually a 4000 series engine.
Which, as the name suggests, is twice the size of the 2000 series that Wayne’s World (the vessel now renamed Iron Leader) was originally built with.
2000 series that you can see in the third of Hurricane's pics, BTW.

No, in fact, the engines that came out were MTU CR2000s the V16 version of the one in the 3rd photo (half the size of mine plus an extra turbo).
But the video does bring back some personal memories.
This is one of mine being moved in a similar way (only V8 though, I'm afraid)

Your post beat me to it P

Hurricane?! What the hell are you driving?! The now correctly identified 2000's came out of a 70 foot boat capable of ~ 45knts and you are the same size, maybe a bit heavier and have 4000's o_O (twice the size I presume ~ twice the power?) Good God! I'm floored!

Here's me looking at the 2400hp engine that's 10x the power of mine and drooling then you come rocking with a 20x more powerful one
