Can anyone give me an idea of servicing costs for CAT C12 710HP diesels. Are they generally a reliable engine? anything particular to look out for? Lastly, can anyone recommend a good independent CAT service engineer in the Solent area.

Cat service is generally the domain of Finnings, who have an exclusive deal with Cat in the UK. Best give them a call as they can answer all your questions. With regard to history and reliability questions, Latestarter1 is the forum guru on large diesels, so if he doesn't see this, pop him a PM.
