title says it all really.

I'm after 8 fenders (mine are currently a pathetic mismatch...) with a dia of around 25-28cm.
Polyform are 28mm dia but cost approx 50euro a piece and the finder baskets are really 26cm so there's going to be some struggle to get 3 together in each side.
these castro ones have a fancy design that I like a lot (eye is not protruding in the typical ugly way they all do), looked strong, it's a one piece moulding and they also have them in proper black at 35-38 euro each.

So, is it worth it, anyone uses them or tried them?
and more important, anything wrong with them?

cheers

never seen a ripped apart fender (I should do that sometime as I have a couple of busted ones...) but I feel this Castro one may actually be stronger than the others as it's rotomoulded which means there are no seams whereas all the normal ones look like the eye cone is bonded to the rest of the fender.

I'll see if anyone has any real experience with them and I'll probably get a couple to test them over winter and decide what I do for the summer

Hi,

I have 9 year old polyform black shields with 8 x tube and 3 x ball and they still look pretty good today and are really strong.

Castros are good looking and will definitely protect your boat. I only wondered about the Fender tip that is beautifully crafted, but I wonder if this design wraps up when sometimes two big boats are too close and boats roll ...

On the other hand the price is very attractive but if you lower your investment for several years, should you take this risk?

I hope someone has a longer experience with Castro Fenderi and give you an answer on the quality.
