I'm posting this on behalf of my old mate Bill who is 74. Several years ago I gave him a little 4 legged cast iron stove with little anchors on the fire doors to replace his elderly stove on his Eventide 25. I had bought it in a junk shop and was told it was from a trawler. Unfortunately the top surface has cracked and slightly distorted and really needs replaced. Have tried Internet but got no-where. Anyone able to help?

Rigger Mortice, will get a photo next few days. alohol2, thanks, another avenue opened. Srp, it's quite an ornate shape with a central circular plate that lifts out. Could something like that be constructed from boiler plate?

Yes you can fabricate the same shape in mild steel with a welder and angle grinder. I have made replacement doors and flue controls for various old stoves,it does rust quick if it is wet when cold. Probably easier to make a new part than getting someone to weld the old casting cheers Jerry
