Watches last ten years, straps about two......there was a thread a while back which drifted onto watch straps. Any suggestions for replacement strap that isn't the hard plastic casio original - that's a real pain to put on. Someone mentioned a velcro strap. Please, any suggestions gratefully received.

I got a velcro 'Xtreme' to replace my battered leather one I use for sailing/swimming/bathing/etc.
Cost less than a tenner & is great & very CQ'r.
Got it in my local street market.

thanks for all the advice - got one of these (cheapest possible in case it wasn't right)

the size is 14mm and it fits the watch exactly. made a pr*t of myself not realising how to fit it. most watch straps come in two halves with each attaching with a pin. this - like most velcro straps i assume - is just in one piece - but the strap runs across the back of the watch held captive by the pins and a velco 'tab' covers the thin bit so you have a buckle and a strap to fasten back on itself.

well...you learn something new everyday..............

Did it fit well & look neat given that a normal fitting using the pins would be stepped? Photo appreciated if it is not to much trouble.
Regards......

if these pics work that should answer your question. Even SWMBO thought it was acceptable. And it was the cheapest version available. You can see how it fits in the pic showing the back and there is a velcro flap that covers the pins and the back of the watch. Dead easy to fit - once you work out how - because the pins are in plain sight not stuck into the holes in the strap.

As I say its the cheapest I could find on ebay so if you are fussy you can get something much nicer but this is a great alternative to a new casio strap

I may have suggested this in the previous thread. Happens that mine's an "Xtreme" as well. Still happy with it.
