Seeming to try and have all options covered I decided to buy the Excel Boat Rack that mounts on your tow ball hitch and can carry 75KG. So My folded up Honwave T38 should not be a problem. Terry from Excel relieved me of £159.99 plus £15 delivery and it arrived. I was interested to see that it was actually called a Buzz Rack. Once assembled and put on the car I was very impressed indeed. Could come in very useful and of course because it is not a trailer you can take it on a ferry cheap as with the car and rack it is less then 5.5m long that is the normal length allowed as a car on a ferry. Also of course you are not limited to 60 MPH as it is not a trailer.

I was sceptical at first but it seems to be very strong . Could be useful for some of you chaps that cart stuff to and from your boat but tend to have a full car

A clever idea.

I don't think it would be too difficult fitting an extension set of reversing sensors to guard against the possibility of forgetting it's there.

It goes without saying that I never would, of course, but my wife . . . . . . ;)

I remember the day when there was no such thing as reversing sensors :)
