Do you still get bad underwater growth there?

When I was there in '98 loads of boats were completely encrusted (a bit like you get in Sant Carles Marina).

If so, do they do lifting deals?

Which is the recommended marina for cruisers?

How does in compare to Lagos, Portugal as an overwinter stop? In terms of marina costs, provisioning and restaurants costs, stuff to do still ? And not to forget the weather?! We are in Lagos and loving it but interested to hear from anybody who has overwintered in both places and give a comparison. Thanks.

I took a look around last March, lovely place. If I was overwintering on a boat it would be pretty close to top of my list.

We stopped there briefly in 2004 - an excellent place and we always said we'd return. Spanking sail down the coast and into the bay that day too

Good community that year. Marina very friendly.
Nice city, very spanish ie little discernible expat community - no doubt there will be varying views on whether that is a good or bad thing.

We stopped over once at Easter and the Semana Santa parade was spectacular.
