We have all done it and walked for miles with heavy bags. Last year in France I saw a lady with an aluminium framed back pack on that converted to a two wheeled trolley. It looked the business folded down flat and was well made in aluminium tubing with a large lightweight nylon back for all the groceries and loads of pockets.

Any suggestions on where I might purchase one.

Go ped

Thought about Go-Ped electric scooter?

Has a seat Carry, bag etc etc.... save you all those miles of walking..

Will do about 7miles flat out(20mph) on one charge.. takes 4 hrs to recharge.. or 12 miles at 12 mph.....

Folds up nicely and is eco friendly!

look here at the ESR750 web page

You can buy cheap alloy folding trolleys. Folded they will fit in a suitcase, then hey presto out they come and you can roll the case over rough ground. However I use them mainly for shifting jerry cans of water and fuel. One that converts into a backpack sounds interesting for the dinghy transfer.

We bought one of these in France from the local hypemarket "E l'eclerc"
It is a convertible shopping trolley, similar to the one your gran might have used but the colours are much more modern and when finished it folds flat then in two and weighs about two kilos!

The other type of folding trolley you'll see in tool shops usually does not have backs on it so everything has to be strapped on which is a pain in the ass.

Agreed! Our Brompton folders are superb and have carried 5 gallon cans of diesel on the front carrier support on lots of occasions. The bag itself will easily carry a normal 'shop', and with two bikes we've never had a problem. AND, as you say, you can also use a backpack if needed.

All in all, bikes are far more versatile.

Cheers

Re: For Gods sake. Whats the crew for! nm

Dahon bikes ride better than the others! and a mid placed 20lite water/fule can can be carried as well. I once had a strider but that had platic lugs and couldent be left for long
