Really good advice to fit new ones and keep spares.
As @Caraway says this allows for dealing with seized bolts etc... but also validates you have the right tools onboard. I spent five minutes replacing an alternator and five hours getting a 24mm spanner to change the pulley. Subsequently purchased a spanner!
