Flotex here as well. Hospitals use it and if they can clean up the dirt they get in there, then good enough for me.

I wanted flotex and then I saw the price.

We have used rubber backed bathroom carpet which works very well and curves easily to shape with few cuts to take up some of the more bizarre bends that boats require.

With the offcuts we made some mats for high wear / grubby spots like the saloon entrance. SWMBO was able to overlock the edges to stop them pulling. Take them to any seamstress and they will do the same for a lot less than a carpet merchant.

We have used standard B&Q carpet glue to stick it down without problem, including getting the saloon carpet sodden when I left the hatch open overnight in pouring rain.
