I have decided that replacing all the woodwork on my MP31 is going to be a better / nicer option than just replacing the deck and any other pieces that are showing rot / damp.
This is a little beyond me and will also require some fibreglassing too.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent chippy in the Preston area that would take this on.
Doesn't need to be dove-tail joints everywhere but i am looking for someone that can make a nice job and not just throw a big hammer at a lot of 6" nails at a lot of 3" x 2" !!
Thanks in advance

It maybe worth dropping Waynes World of this parish a pm, he works on other peoples boats and is very handy with carpentry and fibreglass. He's worked on other forum members boats with good results from what I have read. He's in Manchester iirc.

Hi Mark, hope all is well down there and in return for that i have to say you are the best customer yet to date as to get a cruise in an amazing boat to the VIP lounge for dinner :)

My latest chippy job for one of my boat.

Iroko tiles on 18mm base with Sapele hockey stick trim, all to match the cupboard top in Khashoggi. The filler i made worked great, used Cascamite and added Iroko dust from the last job. Near done now on Khashoggi. Oh finished in Le Tonkinous.

Nope, rarely i am after folk recommend me for some reason.

No biggie as busy with all sorts..

Sorry for not contacting you as you were, after all, recommended.
I just believed that being in Manchester you would be too far to take on this project, nothing personal and sorry if i appeared rude or ignorant.
Regards, Stephen

I recommended him because I thought it was close enough to Preston, 40 miles? Not far for a tradesman really. :ambivalence:

@Wayne....can you still get cascamite? you are old school lol. ;):encouragement:

Hi Stephen

Not a problem at all, i didnt think that all either. I have travelled all over to do work, as far as Bath, Southampton too Essex.
Preston is like next door for me lol. Infact my bats are up your neck of the woods just past Garstang on the Lanky canal.

You certainly can Cascamite still, love the stuff for some reason, i reckon better than some glues you can get now like Gorilla/Evo etc. Also how i can add timber dust to make a filler, i had ago with other glues as mentioned but didnt work as good.

Nowt wrong with old school at times ;)
