Run by Greek chap married to an Italian with an Italian chef in the kitchen. This is a terrific little taverna which is situated right on the waters edge in Mongonisi Bay. The small menu includes things like carpaccio of octopus, anti pasto, homemade pasta, parmagino, lemon pudding and panacotta. The menu changes daily, portions are tapas like in size but beautifully cooked and presented and prices very reasonable. If you are looking for steak and chips then this is not the place for you. However they do make lovely pizzas ( perfect size for kids ) and have an assortment of ice creams for the family.

I asume this is not the large taverna used by all the flotillas which is is a rip off with poor food but idyllic location.

No! If you are anchored in the bay then the taverna I recommend is the one to the R of the flotilla taverna.
Never eaten in the flotilla taverna but the fact that it caters for 40 -50 people as one group as it were means the standard of food isn't what we are looking for!

djk has it spot on! This taverna is brilliant! I can only assume we were very lucky when we went as there was some sort of a local party going on. The food was great, the music was great and the staff joined in with flaming brandy, dancing, the works! This was 2008, I don't remember another taverna and I saw no charter boats (only me!). I have lived abroad most of my life and this is one of the most memorable meals/evenings I have had anywhere! Moored along the harbour wall, bows to because of rocks.
