Late afternoon today a freak wind caused havoc in Vlicho Bay. Vis down to a few metres and boats dragging all over the place. My small boat was pinned at about 70 degrees and dragged to within a metre of a restaurant quay on the East shore, floor boards lifted and the contents of my fridge ended up on the chart table. My neighbor not so lucky and ended up on his side on the shore. Several vessels in the boatyard appear to have been knocked over.

Lots of blown out genoas that unfurled in the gusts. As quickly as it came things settled and re-anchoring started. Sirens and emergency vehicles in the village. Will find out more in the morning

Blimey, I can count my lucky stars, was anchored there for over a week and left two days before. Was in Mitika where it was rather lively but manageable. There were even people sailing in the area on that same day.

Sorry for all the people who sustained damage, injury and worse, loss of loved ones.
