cargo boom

I have already posted about getting a more powerful rib for the family but should explain this will probably be used mainly from marina on days when not good for sailing. Anyway have found tohatsu 40 hp that I intend to keep for the most time on pushpit (alrady oversizd) but it weighs 58kg. the yachts boom is a few metres away as we are centre cockpit and I am looknig at buying a cargo boom but they seem incredibly expensive for what they are. I am wondering about a home made solution with welded steel pipe or has any one used these or come up with other solutions.

Small spinny boom from mast to motor?? I use my oversize wooden poling out booms for cargo poles.

Strongly-braced radar arch? You could rig a pulley for lifting the OB and use the arch for other purposes - solar panels, antennae etc.
