Cardiff Marina Open Day - 3rd July 2010

All,

Hope to see you there this Saturday.

Kicks off at 1pm with band, RNLI raffle, canoe trials and yes free drinks. More info. at www.cardiffmarina.com. Looks as if the few showers we have will clear on Friday to leave a sunny day on Saturday!

I spoke to a CYC committee member today, he says the size limit does not apply to visiting boats. They prefer people to ring the club in advance and spend some money over the bar when they are there. The bar is open Wednesday to Saturday nights plus during the day at weekends. Breakfast and lunch are served on Saturday.

Or you could come along to the senior clubin Cardiff Bay - CBYC - where you will find the bar open every lunctime and dinner time, meals available every lunchtime and dinner time ( I think) and a full service marina with proper pontoons. Mind you there is a small charge for overnight stops _ £10 ( I think). :D

Diesel is available too.

Most CBYC members I have spoken to have said, as you do, that the club is very professional. I would however, respectfully, take issue with you about the term "senior club in Cardiff Bay". CYC was first established in 1900, I believe the original Penarth motor boat club was established between the wars. Approximatly 75% of our vistor pontoons are the same boarded type as I have seen at CBYC. The rest are perfectly acceptable plastic type.
I didn't realise CBYC did diesel, how does the price for non-members compare with the 93p/ltr I recently paid at Penarth marina?

Is there a big screen for the football? I hate football but only ask as i know a fair few won't go to the open day because they want to watch the match.
