Cardiff Marina and surrounding area

We have just decided to keep the boat for our 4th season at Cardiff (penarth). We live in Bristol, but feel Cardiff gives the best options.

We especially like 24hr access, also you do not have to go to sea as you can cruise around the bay and rivers for an hour or so if it is windy

Not as many places to go as the south coast but our destinations are:
Portishead, Watchet and Bristol for an overnight
Sharpness and the Canal to Glos and beyond)
Swansea and Milford for more adventure

I'm also a member of CBYC, great club , with a fab bar and food. You can always use your boat even if its just to go across the bay to Mermaid quay for a drink and a meal. Weston S. mare is just a short trip across the chanel. As it happens I visited the new hrabour at Burry Port today. I'm sure boating is great but it is not an easy place to reach by car. I'm sure that you will find it hard to beat the Solent apart from the price.

Good luck with your boating

We're about to sign up with Eastlands boat yard on the Hamble, ok not a dry stack, but seems friendly and only £76.75 per meter per quarter!!

Might be worth a look!
