Hi all,

Moved this from the Scuttlebutt area,

Does anyone know if CYBC can accomodate a 50ft yacht with a 10ft draft? I have emailed them but got no reply.

Cheers

you got the only available info on the previous post Jams. Club rules limit boats to 40 ft without special permission but that has been given in the past. If you want to follow the matter up, then best ring the marina manager on the number given. It's all anyone other than the marina manager or the CoManagement can say to you.

Min depth in the approach channel to the barrage is about 0.5m above chart datum so on a decent spring you would have access ( asuming a 1 m safety margin) a bit more than 4 hours either side of HW

What sort of boat by the way

I would suggest phoning the office and asking to speak to the clubs marina manger. You would need to take care inside the Bay as much of it is only about 10 ft deep and no tide to lift you off if you touch. As allready stated locking in and out of the barrage woul;d be OK. you would have 24 hour access On neaps ,on springs about 4 hrs +or- HW.

Hope it is not rude...but may I offer you a berthing solution at Cardiff Marina - see www.cardiffmarina.com

We can accommodate up to 120 ft (with specially enlarged pontoons) and have deep water (subject to access through Cardiff Bay).

I may have to resort to a pontoon berth in the end. But i prefer swinging mooring for the privacy really.
