Cardiff Bay speed limits.

I hate to scupper this attack on the banana boats but they did go past us at speed recently and whilst me and SWMBO found it annoying our kids were loving it and laughing out loud from the up and down motion provided by the large waves made and fun to be had. They would rather have a go on the fast boat than go slow with mum and dad.

I agree with the points raised however, especially zig zagging all over the place its difficult to tell where they are heading. Also the waves can catch out the unwary. Perhaps if they knew how much chaos they cause they may take their antics outside the barrage?

To be honest they're all as bad as each other. Given they generally go straight to the front of any queues for the locks, maybe they should stick to chucking people around in the channel, rather than the Bay. The Bay is there for everyone to enjoy, not just their punters.

Is it the Cambrian lot that are the menace then?

[/ QUOTE ] yes the other outfit is based in the marina, he goes under the banner of"severn explorations" hes a nice guy and mostly goes in a straight line to and from the locks to mermaid quey.

That would make sense as Severn Exploration's web site would indicate they are a professional operation.
Who's going to speak to the other mob then?
Perhaps a representation from CBYC or CYC?

Just as a matter of interest, I was sailing from Mermaid quay South towards the lock gates the other week, close in, passing the sails monument when a water taxi stayed just off my Stern, starboard side. I needed to tack to cross the bay but if I did I would tack right in front of him, I kept pointing what I wanted to do but he ignored me. Not knowing what to do, I spilled my wind and let him overtake. I'm a novice as you all know, but what would you have done? He was supposed to keep clear wasn't he?
