Cardiff Bay boatyards

Hello. New to the area and looking for a yard in Cardiff bay to haul out a 28ft yacht for a month so I can do engine and prop repairs. I dont want to pull the mast for this either. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations please?

Penarth, not much other choice unless the boat clubs allow visitors. I think Cardiff Marina needs the mast down to get to their boatyard now

We used to moor in Penarth. They were always quite helpful. We had our boat out for 3 weeks in their yard, without having to get the mast down.

May be my isolated experiences but I would avoid Cardiff Marine Group.

First experience was on my old boat which had a slight fuel leak on the outboard. Cardiff Marine looked at it and said it needed a new minor part. Gave them the keys and waited / chased / waited / chased for 3 months. Lots of promises but no action. Retrieved the keys and did the job myself in the end. Took me 1/2hour and £15.

Second experience was to renew the Diesel engine cut off cable bracket for my new boat and diagnose a gear box fault (not fix). Quoted £460 plus vat. When I stopped laughing I had the job done by a local independent, Davies Marine, for c.£120.
