This evening I tested the main saloon detector . Pressed the button .....all was fine . Just out of curiosity I held it adjacent the Eberspatcher outlet but nothing happened surely it should have alarmed or am I missing something ?

Hi Clyst,

Welcome back.

If the alarm did not sound then probably no CO from your Eber (presumably the heating outlet not the exhaust). You can sleep easy AND wake up.

Cheers OS .Made me chuckle ....... Not the heater outlet :) by the exhaust outlet and yes it was flashed up !:)
When you coming down again ?

Hi

You would expect any combustion process to be efficient and not produce any Carbon Monoxide at all these days. Only faulty or incomplete combustion produces Carbon Monoxide, even in the exhaust stream it should be zero or very low.

Cheers

"Captain" Clyst it is then from now on.

We have made a couple of flying visits to check on the boat. Will be down again about the time "you know who" returns from "down under" to get some antifouling on. Hopefully will meet up.

Testing Co alarms you really need a test gas, they are available online.
The alarms are set to sample Co over a period of time I cant remember the exact settings but as an example, (ignore times and levels).
If the alarm samples Co @ 50ppm then the alarm will not activate until it has sampled that for 60 mins.
If 100ppm over 30mins it will alarm.
If 200ppm over Xmins etc etc etc.
So if you really want to test the alarm get a test gas, the last one i got was about £6 for a 5 shot tester.
