Ours went off at home this week - five of us in the house plus 3 year old grandson - SSE emergency guy came round and advised suspected leak and blocked off the gas - was pleased I had one - the alternatives were too horrible to contemplate...

That is one of the reason I moved our gas boiler into the loft away from the living areas of the house, but still have a CO detector and smoke alarm fitted in the loft.

It was good timing as it happens - we have a new boiler going in this week anyway - and ours is going in the loft as well.... I'll move the alarm up there as well when it's done... either way I'd recommend anyone got one.. absolute no brainer...
