Carbon fibre bowsprit. How strong? How thick the wall?

The sizing table for genakker furler from Selden suggest that you should use the GX25 for a cruising chute for your boat, the GX25 have a max working load of 25 kN.

If you assume that the max load of 25 kN is along the line between tack and head you should be able to calculate the load components on the bowsprit (bend and compression)

This is really most useful. I will now hunt to find a company that can manufacture a carbon fibre tube that can withstand 25kN load. If I avoid the word "marine" it may be more affordable!
