Car wash/wax ok for boats?

As mine had 6 coats of clear lacquer sprayed onto her before i got her the Farecla G3 will not do any damage, actually it is a recommended product along with 3M car refinishing ranges.

Don't know what brand of lacquer it is though, but it buffs well, and with the anount of polish there is on the old girl it would take some breaking through unless i were really stupid with the buffer.

.....like I said, technique over product any day.......

Best advice written in this entire thread... Owned a superb collectable sport car a few years back. Though I tracked it often, it won many concours... what I used then was Maguiars... (they gave me all their products)

If I have to part with my own dosh?? I use Turtle. About 10 years back a consumer group tested various waxes. Turtle came out on top.:D

I bet they didnt include the likes of dodo juice, collinite, poorboys, raceglaze etc. I just finished doing my boat and used a mixture of car and marine products. But i expect boat finishes are like cars, what works on my truck may not work on your car, paint finishes differ widely, some sof, some hard and while the product may be good it depends on the pad selected.
I did this using menzerna, then protected with a layer of colinite wax, will snow foam her over the winter and presure wash off.

Im thinking after use a snow foam and rinse should do the job and stop the need to touch the finish, if the snow foam doesnt do the job ill use my meguiers shampoo that is ph neutral and well lubricated and a lambswool wash mitt:D
