Now most of us (Byron excepted) use our cars to either drive to our boat or to tow it to the water. As I am about to choose my new car does anyone know of a good, reliable, free web site that will calculate the Tax on the car ??

HUH? What tax? Don't we all pay the same? Has someone changed the rules while I wasn't looking?

errrr, no Byron, little engines mean you pay a bit of an arm and big ones mean you pay the full arm and leg! Unless you have one of those dirty smelly diesel things when you only pay a little bit, whatever the capacity!
Means my little Suzuki Wagon R (post man Pat van) costs me £ 140 a year and the wife's Suzuki Swift which is 993 cc and pre March 2002 costs only £ 105 PA.

They've totally shafted Co. Car tax as well along the same lines.

Blimey! No wonder that Ferrari got left in the gutter and you see all those big Beamers dumped in car parks around Henley.

Leaseplan

I used Leaseplan's tax calculator. It frightened me so much, that Im going to scrap the company car. By my reckoning, I should be able to use the money to run a car and pay for mooring. Thanks Gordon!

Have you considered a Nissan Navara or similar 'lifestyle' pick-up? Only £500 taxable benefit including fuel, have five seats, climate control, CD, electric bits and bobs, you can reclaim VAT and they look OK.

Might not pull a chick at Monte Carlo but they will pull 3T of boat. Now which would you rather have?

Se my Profile for SWMBO's monster - I need a smallish MPV to carry SWMBO and the four kids around !!!!! Say --- Zafria, 307SW etc
