My CD player/radio has given up and I must buy a new one.Are all the connectors the same between brands or are they specific?

There is a 'DIN' standard, two rectangular multi-way plugs, but not every radio uses it.
You can get adaptor leads on ebay quite cheaply if your old radio is not DIN.

Here's my visual to assist fellow boaters... I did it a year ago to help me understand and install a car radio in my previous boat...:)

I hope it helps

You can buy adaptors to switch between the common connectors on Ebay. The non-standard connector is likely to be on a car not a new radio.

From my recent experience all radios have an ISO connector it is the cars which have their own sockets which need the adapters. If the boat had a non ISO system most car accesoriy shops sell the plugs with decent wire tails on them to connect to the boat wiring
