Hi all,
being now boatless, sadly, we are planning to visit many of our East Coast destinations by car. Can anyone advise where might be the nearest Disabled parking to the Waterside at Brightlingsea?
I know there is a car park on Oyster Tank Rd near the Sailing Club, but wondered if there was anything closer.

There is a small council car park (tower street car park) just behind the Harbour Offices on the Hard. Gets busy in peak season.

As Creek says, the nearest to the Marina is the Council run car park on Tower Street or alternately the car park adjacent to the Sailing Club.
Both are Pay and Display and both do tend to get full very early on in the day at peak times. They are also patrolled regularly by parking vultures, so keep an eye on how long you have left on your ticket! If they are both full, if you continue on into the old shipyard estate whilst technically private land, locals will park up there and I have never yet heard of anyone getting a ticket or clamped.

I think your best option might be to drop your passenger at the front and then park by the sailing club and walk round, which is not far.
Thanks, she has a mobility scooter, but we wanted to be able tp park conveniently near, but by the Sailing club would be no problem, just wondered if there was anything else that Google Maps does not show.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. We found plenty of space in the Tower St car park, with a disabled bay right by the gate. 3 hrs free for disabled, much better than East Suffolk where you have to pay the same as everyone else. We had a nice coffee and scone in Harbour Square then walked/rode along to Bateman’s Tower and back. At lunch time I moved the car to a convenient spot that was free near the hard.
All in all a lovely day, especially as the forecast thunderstorms seemed to have gone off somewhere else.

If you park (which is permitted) in the road next to Batemans Tower it is free. However, if you park in the car park next to the road, you must pay
