Car hire in Trinidad

Can anyone recommend a car hire firm in Trini, please?

I used to rent from Econo-car rentals at Crews Inn in Chaguaramas. They did very good rates on some older cars - some were a bit dodgy but they generally did the job OK. You'll find most of the major firms at Piarco.

Avalon is right Econo Car.....every panel has a dent in.......but at £20 per day including the insurance waiver who is to complain

Rates are higher nowadays but definitely negotiable especially on older cars.

Join the group and ask about the going rate at Chaguaramas. It should be less than the airport rate. The taxi ride in from the airport will be about $300 TT

Thanks, all. Now I remember Econocar. Once, we had a car from them with only one window winding handle (forget electric windows). When it rained, we had to pass the handle around the cabin to get all the windows shut before we got drenched! Happy days....

Dodgy? We had an old brown thing that was totally unrecognisable as a make and on one occasion I had to stop (with some difficulty) in a dip coming down one of the hills to let the brakes cool down sufficiently to work. They were very cheap though and I didn't really have to worry about a CDW!!!

We rented from Rent- -Wreck aka Econo-Car last august about TT200 a day for longer rentals. Cheap and the Aircon worked!

As above. econocar have a web site and do one way rents between airport and crews inn both ways . cheaper than taxi . driving in trini is an experience not to be missed
