Can any of you recommend a decent car hire company for when I visit the IOW for a week in the summer as we want to explore the island we will be after a mid size family car for 4 people

The bus service (some of them open top) on the IOW is absolutely brilliant for island sightseeing, IMO much better than hiring a car...

We have been a couple of times to the island, and have taken our own car on the ferry.

I've hired a car for next weekend. Puck up Friday evening; drop back Monday evening. Cost, 69 pounds. Company, Top Gear in Cowes

Edit: I see it's the same people Colhel has recommended, they seem to be flexible on drop off and pick up times too, my daughter did lunchtime to lunchtime over 2 days.

Yes good for sightseeing but will be cheaper to use hire care if 4 people being conveyed
Use bus ourselves whilst there but have the advantage of age concession!
Have not seen car hire in Cowes

re the bus. We were in Island Harbour over Easter and SWMBO took the bus a couple of stops to get the the local SPAR. £3.40 one way!!

Last time we did the bus it was a tenner each a day and you could go where you liked
