Had a 'friend' years ago who was new to boating and asked if he could follow us out to sea. He wanted to head back early and asked for direction so i said head for the JCB on the shore. He headed off with anchor still down! and followed the MOVING JCB until the anchor grabbed at probably 30kts! dull or what! He has since sold the boat and now flies aircraft!

Funny, yes, but what bothers me (admittedly as an increasingly crotchety old git) is that there seem to be more and impractical pillocks like that around. And it's not exactly reassuring to know that, although he's not in the water, he might be up there somewhere.
