Somebody in quality control obviously spotted that the drawings looked more substantial than the finished items and acted accordingly.

The problem is getting the owners to cut the wood up into handy to get through door 20" lengths.
Birch does burn a bit fast,however a few oak or mahogany bits from some of those classic old Thmaes slipper launches would slow the burn up a bit.
