I've just watched the video clip of Cap'n Calamity on a Cornish beach.
Have I missed something?
I know the media like to set people up for public ridicule, but is it justified in this case?
OK, he capsized a beach cat in the surf, not that unusual surely. Nothing appears to have broken and he walks ashore, apparently ready for another go. He's wearing appropriate gear and the boat looks in good order. I don't think I would expect to be "rescued" in those circumstances.
I bet the surfer also capsized a few times, why didn't the lifeboat insist on saving his life?
I don't believe he was 100 nm [nautical miles?] offshore either.
