I've fallen out of, and capsized numerous dinghies - I've also pitch-poled my beach cat and recovered it myself (eventually). I didn't want to be rescued either, that's what my mini-flares were for.

We need a run of TV adds to educate the public as to what 'normal' sailing entails, and how to indicate that you're in distress. The RNLI have to respond so can't be blamed really, unless they're calling themselves out.

I think it has been pulled from YouTube, which is nothing to do with YBW. lol

Hi everyone - I just got an email from the RNLI explaining that the quoted cost of rescues is incorrect. I have been told that it's a fabricated sum that people keep quoting. I have just updated the story to clarify and correct the mistake and I wanted to make sure you were updated too
