Capsize Drill Went Ahead, Despite The Weather

Sailfree.
I have a floating righting line on the boat. I used it in the video, but it didn't lend much advantage. I managed the righting by just pulling on the centre-board.

The loop for the foot will be more use. I had intended to use it over the gunwhale midships, but as you can see it would just capsize again if I tried from there.
A using the line over the transom as a step-up may be better. I found the second recovery a lot more difficult as I was tiring and the pull to get over the transom is quite a stretch.
I think I proved to myself that turtling isn't a problem with a Solo and even so it was an easy recovery.

It's only 70Kg of course, compared to the heavier Wayfarer.

Just repeat the drill in 20 kt gusts plus a nice chopy swell, then you'll be well and truly shagged :D
I know my limits.

Actually if it was windy I reckon you could grab the mainsheet and get some resistance so that hauling onto the side deck at the windward shroud wouldn't result in another capsize.

Something to try on another day.
