I was in Cape Town in january/february. Royal Cape YC have wednesday races starting at around 18.00. If you go there a bit after 16.00 and tell the nice lady you're interested in sailing they will probably set you up with a yach looking for crew for the races. (There is also a nice bar at the Yacht Club.)

Table Bay can be lovely to sail in, we had lovely sunshine and dolphins playing in the water one race but the week before was windy, wet and low visibility.

Greetings to the crews of Spectrum and First One if you read this!

If you want to rent a yacht it will be a bit more tricky. Most of the charters are big crewed yachts. At least I never found anything else...

Good Luck and enjoy your stay in the fairest cape of all.

There are a number of crowds that offer day sailing out of the Waterfront Area. Don't know if any do longer stuff. Try calling one of the hotels in the waterfront. Something like the V&A.

Cheers
