Wandering down to la trinité later to see the music and activities before the start of the single and double handed race to Martinique.

Race is limited to 30 to 40 foot boats seem to be mainly jpk , sunfasts and pogos.

Very exciting especially after spi oest a week or so ago.

They must have had a special deal on sails for the event . New laminate sails were being laid out and nearly every jpk was having them fitted.

Thanks for the link. Really interesting read. Such a shame that they all seem to be struggling to get sponsorship. Sad that Lorient have had to step in to replace barcelona for one of the races. Bit ljke cherbourg and the fastnet.

Jpk and pogo certainly seem to be leading the innovation race.

Tracker Here JPK on Persai Vert (JPK1050), in the solo fleet. Sam Manuard on Pogo pour Guerir en mer (I'm guessing, a Pogo RC), in the doubles. The two designs, with their designers at the helm, continue their battle for supremacy!

They have delayed the start due to a storm in biscay.
I have to say i thought the pogo 30s looked fantastic this morning.

From the Voiles et Voiliers start coverage, it looked a real carnival. Crowds lining the harbour, bands (official and unofficial) playing. Proper Breton sailing send off. Making the most of the delay for an extended street party!

Well quite a spectacle as they all headed off.

I think windy suggests not as bad as they thought through biscay. Pogo out in front. Love the pogo 30.

The new Pogo RC and the JPK1050 are somewhat unsurprisingly leading the way.

The mega duel is the 2 lead 1050s in the solo class. One has JPK boss Jean-Pierre Kelbert driving, the other Alexander Ozon, who's won essentially everything. Amusingly JPK wasn't supposed to be doing the race, so lent his personal boat, Leon, to Alex. But then a customer decided not to do it and offered his boat to JPK... So mr JPK is currently trailing his own boat....
