Canvassing for canvas

I am interested in weather or not the quote I have received for a canopy to be made for my Bayliner 2655 (circa 99) is competitive. So if anyone has purchased for same or similar boat please give me the costs and any other relevent info. PM me if you prefer to be incognito. Incidentally I am awaiting a PM from a Forum member who has recently imported from USA. Sounds very interesting.

Estimate for my Windy 8800 is approx £1,300. Its a start from scratch job as there are no poles.

Paid £1400 for superb new canvas for my Sunfury. Totally tailoired to suit with two front opening 'windows' and opening side and back panels.

Please tell me where you got the work done... I have been calling around and so far for my 27.5" Mariah, have been quoted £3200 for the canvass only.... I nearly fell over! I would cetrtainly expect to pay under £1500... Perhaps we could "canvass" pardon the pun! and get a bulk buy deal on 4 or 5 jobs+?

I assume you are all going for the non pvc type material which is more asthetically pleasing and breaths/wears better?

Slightly of track but a friend of ours had a canopy made a couple of years ago for his Targa and was very happy with it. He called the lady to ask if she could make a canopy for his new boat and was shocked by her reply. " I must be loyal to my YACHTING clients so I am affraid I cannot make a canopy for a motor boat". Surely a canopy is a canopy and whats wrong with a motor boat?
