Canvas cover plastic window cleaning

Our covers are only on in the winter so tend to avoid the harsh summer sun, therefore the plastic window section of the covers are still flexible . However they are pretty grubby with ”red rain” and general dirt.

Any tips to clean these and make them transparent rather than barely translucent ...... ?

This is something that I always battled with over the years...until I found out that most canvas canopy makers will replace your windows for new for about £30 each. Pleasantly surprised.

Meguiars make a polish specifically for plastic windows. It works.

Renovo make a cleaner too. I have found car polish good at removing blooming.

You can get a tube of cleaner from a chandlery. It does work quite well, provides nourishment for the clear plastic and claims it can Polish out scratches.

I hate the clear plastic windows with a passion as it really diminishes what i can see. I really like the idea of thin but very strong lexan (polycarbonate) but being rigid would pose a big problem when i want to lower my spray hood...

Try Vuplex, I use this, it's very easy to use, just spray on and wipe off with a microfibre cloth, takes minutes
