Can\'t say I\'m very pleased (part 2)

No No No,

Many people seem to have the impression that the breach was due to the site designer - possibly because Paul Rogers posted this [ QUOTE ]
"....and spoken to the person who designed the site on my behalf"

[/ QUOTE ] and that he has not actually said that he was the transgressor.

I would also add that following a short dialogue with the designer it was she who took the site off air.

I've no choice but to notify moderator to either remove my initial post or edit it to remove the comments made against the web-site designer.

Personally

I'd prefer the whole thing to be removed.

Don't think the purpose of these forums is to host commercial disputes between squabbling company owners.

Re: Can\'t say I\'m very pleased (part 2)

I to have watched this with a sense of alarm a Yachting BB, being used to air a public dispute on web site design/copyright.....now getting into part 2!
Its the same as the Mobo web site, continuously having posts regarding a long running dispute on a Moboat with loads of defects...

I thought, maybe naively that the yacht/ mobo forums were for the discussion of boating topics? General topics of interest/dispute regarding a particular manufacturer & or service supplier are of course welcomed as an assist/warning, to the rest of the boating community but to then abuse this with an extended, or in the case of the mobo dispute many many posts, seems to be against the spirit of the forums.

All in mho.

I suspect Steve would have no objection to part 1 and part 2 of his threads being removed now that the facts seem straight, and he has some kind of dialogue with the other chap.

On the mobo thread, I think it is good that we are repeatedly reminded that the after sales care of a certain boat dealer is less than adequate.... and that it continues to be so.

Ultimately, it is up to the moderators to decide what should be removed/modified, and I am sure they have given both sets of threads consideration.

Just my opinion

Cheers

Richard

Re: Can\'t say I\'m very pleased (part 2)

I asked for the thread to be removed last night. Paul L is on holiday so I emailed Keith and asked to remove.

The transgressor was not replying to my communications so I named and shamed. Problem was he subsequently posted leaving many people with the impression that he was squeaky clean and it was somebody elses (the designers) fault. (and she has taken a lot of flak). Problem was that it wasn't her fault at all but his. He's sent me several messages claiming libel etc. My response to him is "bring it on baby".

Hopefully this is the end of it and the threads will be removed soon. The site is off air and that is all I wanted.

Did you contact the other site owner first before posting on here?

You could have posed this as a PM but as you've asked it I will reply here.

Depends what you mean by the other site owner?

I used the "contact me" form on the website - saying either contact me or remove my text, and within 24hours please. No reply after 12 hours. Went on the contact me page/code and found his hotmail addy so emailed that and said he now had 12 hours. No reply at the end of the 24hours so I posted here and sent him the thread link as a wake up call.
(The name I knew at that time is the one from a "whois" enquiry on the website - but note I never used his name on the forum to begin with - I refered to the website).

I was not aware of the other name until someone else referenced it here. I contacted her, was responded to very quickly, and supplied info. She then took the site down.

She has taken a lot of flak, all completely incorrectly because of the way Paul Rogers (Forum ID Sabite) replied here. If we can leave this thread alone now and let the moderators do their thing. My objective was to get my copyrighted info off someone elses website and this has been successful.

A good row can brighten up what could be a series of somewhat dry or boring posts

So leave the thread alone!

Go on will someone please disagree?
